My Day to Day

I teach students how to turn their passion for food and hospitality into careers. As an associate professor, I cover culinary arts, hospitality, and wellness, helping students become skilled line cooks, hospitality managers, and wellness advocates. I guide them in mastering techniques, understanding customer service, and seeing the bigger picture of community health. My job isn’t just about cooking—it’s about showing people how small changes can transform their futures.

    After high school, I joined the Marine Corps, where I built leadership skills and discipline.

    I eventually transitioned into teaching, which started as a temporary plan but eventually led me to culinary education and mentorship.

    I attended culinary school in Atlanta, gaining hands-on experience in restaurants and catering.

  • 5.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, I became a certified health coach, launching 8 Plates Fitness.

  • 6.

    I also started an urban farm to promote sustainable agriculture and wellness in my community.

    Today, I combine my passions for teaching, cooking, and health to help others transform their lives.
